Writer's Block: Love Is...

This is an interesting question that makes me question what love truly is.
I could say I love a certain smell, or I love my mother, or that I love an artist's style, and no one would question any of them. But I believe love is used much too lightly, and I am also to blame.
I can say, that in the most sincerest form, I love my mother and close friends. I think love is [in regard to people] one of those feelings, where even if you're not feeling well, or you're unhappy, hearing from that person can make you smile, even a little bit. Where you have moments where you say "I hope I'll get to see/talk to/hang out with/etc Such-and-such", and your day can be made by the simple things with that person. Love is where you value them, their opinion, and all the things that make them who they are, unique or not, bad or good. You don't need to like all of them, but you need the power to like them in spite of their flaws. I think this, in very simple terms, is love.
Love for items [my computer, my BJDs, my music, my art, etc] is a very, very, different type of love. It's an extreme passion. A passion you'd devote hours to, and ever second would be worth it and well spent. This also goes for money as well. Love for items get a special symbolic meaning to them. I justify spending large amounts of money on resin dolls because not only are they a source of joy for me, but their a passion of mine. Love for items can be hard to explain, but simply, it's something that you can enjoy immensely, even if some one else would be unable to even begin to understand the appeal to begin with.
Then there is idol love. This is also very different than love for people. Love for an idol is where you feel so strongly connected that just being in the same room as them would fulfill you. You would defend them, even if they never knew and it would never directly effect them. The difference is that you would not put them before people you love, because although they are a person, there is a level of detachment from you and them. For me, it's Gackt [first and foremost on this list] and Jhonen Vasquez. I would be ecstatic just to ever get a glance from them, let alone shake their hand. But, in a matter of life and death, if I[or anyone] had to chose a loved person or them, I would choose the loved person. It does not mean I don't adore and love the idol in my own way, but the love I have for a person[excuse this phrasing] is so much more intimate.
Then there is love on a somewhat personal level. Loving a song or a scent falls in this category. You don't form a bond with it, but you create an emotion of feeling that goes along with it. For me I connect with quite a few songs [Hoshi No Suna, anyone?] simply because of the emotion I feel from it, or the emotion I attach to it. Scents [such as vanilla] often bring back memories, create new ones[although uncommon], or sooth. We can create a bond with such, and thus, say we love it. [I love the smell of vanilla~]
There is also replacement love, where you love something simply because it's better than the situation you were once in. Such as getting out of a test you didn't study for because of a fire drill. Not nearly as strong, but in different contexts perhaps.
Okay, I think I've looked into this deeply enough for tonight. It's late and I'm sick. Good night~ [There are still some types of love I didn't touch! xD]
