prussianknightSo, uhh... MAKING SUGAR COOKIES.
Did you know those things expand? A lot.
Basically long stop short, mum and I put the mix too close to the edge of the pan, the oven caught fire, and the house almost burnt down. Also the local fire department has a good sense of humor and the cookies turned out pretty good.
Mum was freaking out, and I pretty much was too but kept calm otherwise and called 911. As I was doing this mum got the fire extinguisher out which APPARENTLY IS BROKEN. So that didn't work. Then while i was on the phone with 911 my phone started making the warning beeps of I AM GOING TO DIE AT ANY MOMENT. But yeah, so then mum found something [I think a spatula idk I was on the phone telling them my address and stuff] and managed to pat it out.
The fire department still sent people though as there was smoke [it looked like it was fogging in the house, to give you an idea of how it was] so we waited around for them. Mum kept apologizing since everything was fine now but they were all "nah it's better to call than not" and all.
Also, they're pretty cool dudes. One guy was all "well, it smells really good in here at least" and when he left mum said we weren't going to bake any more cookies [WHICH IS A LIE but don't worry we wont do this again haha] and he replied "haha, Chips-a-Hoy~".
So, uh, that's the jist of it. Kind of embarrassing but now it's more of a "lol remember when we almost burned down the house making sugar cookies?" After they left mum was all "you HAVE to post this one FaceBook." so I did. xD

And yes, the cookies were fine, since the fire was at the bottom of the oven and they were on the top rack. :D burnt around the edges and a touch well done, but fine.
ALSO pictures of the fire truck [because mum and I are losers and she told me to take pics, to which I told her "I already am". She didn't know because I am a ninja.], burnt fire causing cookie drips, and the cookies themselves.
These will be flags when I am done with them
ANYWAY lunch now; the fire distracted us so I haven't eaten yet. xD
